Midtown Manhattan is now home to a brand-new kosher spot: Ginger & Glatt, a Chinese takeout and delivery operation running as a ghost kitchen at 750 Eighth Avenue, serving up a pretty hefty menu of Asian go-tos.
Expect all the classics, from sesame chicken (served with broccoli and rice on the side) to beef lo mein, General Tzo chicken, various soups (wonton chicken, egg drop, hot and sour), stir-fried vegetables and egg rolls, to name a few.

Two sections of the menu stand out in particular: under munchies, you’ll find a few barbecue-inspired options that definitely satisfy the munchies—though they don’t exactly flow with the rest of the menu. Think crispy wings with BBQ sauce, garlic mayo and sweet chili on the side; BBQ wings; buffalo wings; Moroccan cigars and what we can only assume is a staff-favorite mashup of the two cuisines: fried and steamed wontons.
Then there’s the curious “Chinese diet menu,” which essentially offers the classics with “zero carbs, zero sugar and diet sauce served on the side.” You can grab a pepper steak, garlic chicken, chicken with mixed vegetables and more—all with a healthier twist.

Price-wise, you’re looking at the mid-$20s for most main dishes and around $10 for smaller ones. Sure, that sounds steep for lunch, but it’s about on par with the going rate for even a basic kosher salad in midtown these days.
As mentioned above, this new operation is a ghost kitchen—so don’t expect tables or any sort of seating on site: the space strictly works on delivery and takeout orders, which you can place right here or through the usual apps. They’re open Sundays from 12:30pm to 8pm, Mondays through Thursdays from 10:30am to 8pm and Fridays from 10:30am to 5pm.
