Finally, kosher foodies traveling through Penn Station will get to snag some kosher food on their way to or off the Long Island Railroad, as popular gluten-free Modern Bread & Bagel gears up to debut a new location inside the travel hub some time in 2025, as initially reported by Yeah That’s Kosher.
Set up near the A/C/E subway line near the Eighth Avenue exit to the station, the new spot will join three already-established Manhattan locations of the chain, plus a new one set to debut in Mitown East after Thanksgiving. Clearly, folks are into their gluten-free baked goods.
No menu details concerning the new Penn Station eatery have yet been revealed, but we expect the offerings to be similar to the ones available at other locations, including different types of bagels, salads, bowls, square pizza slices and pies (the truffle lover option and the classic margherita sound extremely appetizing) and the sorts of baked goods that make for ideal housewarming offerings and weekend indulgences. In the latter category are the lemon bars, chocolate twinkies with marshmallow buttercream, a vanilla caramel babka cake and chocolate halva donuts that will have you wonder how it’s even possible to make something so good while staying away from gluten.
Classic coffee drinks will likely be served all day long as well, alongside freshly squeezed juices and the chain’s signature pastry lattes (which, we guess, should really fall under the food portion of the menu). Suddenly, the thought of sitting on a train while munching on a snack feels delightful—especially if the nibble consists of a cinnamon bun latte made with cheesecake syrup, cinnamon bun cold cream and caramel topping.
