Rachel Golberg-Polin, When We See You Again book cover

Next month, on April 20, Rachel Goldberg-Polin, mother of slain October 7 hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin and now a prominent American-Israeli activist, will appear at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center on the Upper East Side to launch her new book, When We See You Again.

The book is a deeply personal account of grief, resilience and the unbreakable bond between a parent and a child. In it, Goldberg-Polin recounts the agonizing months after her son Hersh was kidnapped during the October 7 attacks, tracing the emotional journey that followed—from desperate hope and global advocacy to unimaginable loss.

Goldberg-Polin and her husband, Jon Polin, emerged as some of the most recognizable voices of the hostage families after October 7. As they traveled across the world advocating for the release of those held in Gaza, they addressed world leaders, including Pope Francis and President Joe Biden, spoke at international forums and became moral voices for many following the crisis.

Goldberg-Polin will appear in conversation with Dan Senor, a prominent political commentator, host of the “Call Me Back” podcast and co-author of the bestselling books Start-Up Nation and The Genius of Israel. Known for his deep knowledge of Israeli politics, global affairs and Jewish communal life, Senor has become an influential voice in conversations about Israel and the Jewish world, making him a fitting interlocutor for Goldberg-Polin’s story.

Tickets for the event start at $36, with premium seating options available. They can be purchased through the Streicker Cultural Center right here, where attendees can also find additional details about the program and schedule.

Given Goldberg-Polin’s global prominence and the emotional resonance of her story, the event is expected to draw a large audience so we suggest booking your seat as soon as possible.
