Blue Hill at Stone Barns restaurant

This is huge: Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Westchester, one of the most decorated restaurants in the world, frequently listed among the world’s top 50 eateries, will turn into a fully kosher restaurant for three nights only, according to an initial report by Yeah Thats Kosher.

The unique dining event will benefit Our Place, a New York-based charity that helps struggling Jewish teens and young adults dealing with abuse, addiction, homelessness and trauma.

According to the outlet, the eatery will operate under the kosher supervision of the Chicago Rabbinical Council on March 17, March 18 and March 19. Each evening will accommodate a total of 50 guests, who will delight in a curated tasting menu by co-owner and chef Dan Barber.

Considering that the non-kosher experience at Blue Hill usually runs over $1,000, the $1,800 price tag for this event doesn’t sound too bad—especially considering what it includes: nine passed tasting-menu dishes, nine seating options, wine pairings with each course, an open bar and live music throughout the evening. Plus, there’s the chance to support a pretty great charity.

No details have been shared about the specific dishes yet, but we expect the three nights to follow the same farm-to-table philosophy that Barber is known for, with menus crafted around seasonal ingredients sourced from nearby farms.

It’s very rare for a chef celebrated around the world to dedicate his craft to a certified kosher meal, especially at this culinary caliber—so you might really want to consider splurging on the evening.
