It’s not often that the very best version of a food in New York also happens to be kosher. Case in point: Dough Doughnuts’ outstanding donuts. Just in time for Hanukkah, the beloved sweet shop—arguably, the purveyor of the best donuts in the city—is set to open a new location at 133 West 72nd Street, near Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side.
According to Yeah That’s Kosher, the new “location is expected to contribute to increased demand in advance of Hanukkah.”
Just as is the case across the six other Dough Doughnuts locations in NYC (all of them are kosher), expect the shop to put out some pretty awesome sufganyots for the holiday.
Outstanding past creations include a halvah-flavored delicacy, an apricot-strawberry-raspberry jam version that was vegan, a chocolate creation topped with powdered sugar (also vegan) and a vanilla custard sufganya with homemade classic vanilla custard topped with powder sugar. We are, indeed, salivating at the mere thought of this year’s extravagant possibilities.
The shop doesn’t disappoint the rest of the year, either. It consistently rides the wave of trending flavor profiles with its own dough-forward creations. Dough’s Dubai chocolate pistachio donut, for example, was the stuff of dessert dreams.
Happy early Hanukkah!
