When it comes to cookies, New York certainly reigns supreme—but, unfortunately, not many kosher varieties have yet gained the sort of popularity that taref versions of the treat enjoy.

Duchess Cookies, a New York-based bakery that serves soft, giant stuffed cookies in a variety of flavors, hopes to change that.
As of last week, three of the chain’s Long Island locations are officially kosher under the supervision of Rabbi Asher Schechter of Congregation Ohr Moshe of Hillcrest. Here are the addresses:
- Garden City: Roosevelt Field Mall, 630 Old Country Road, first floor
- Oceanside: Sands Shopping Center, 3567 Long Beach Road
- Plainview: Plainview Centre, 331 S. Oyster Bay Road

Although the company’s other locations are not certified kosher, all of the cookies sold online also boast an Orthodox Union kosher dairy certificate now.
There are plenty of flavors on offer, ranging from the classic (funfetti, chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, chocolate peanut butter cup) to the more creative (churro, s’mores, almond raspberry, cotton candy).

We must admit that, although the blue Cookie Monster cookie certainly looks most striking, it’s the pistachio white chocolate that’s got all of our attention. The treat is made using two different cookies: a green pistachio and a white sugar, stuffed with pistachio and white chocolate ganache. Just in case you were wondering, each treat is about 4.5 ounces and baked to order.
Happy indulging!
