A powerful new creative initiative born in the aftermath of October 7 is coming to New York City.
The 8 Project, described by its organizers as a “creative healing initiative,” will present a special exhibition curated by Israeli-American artist Tomer Peretz. The show, titled “The 8 Project Exhibit,” will take place at a private, undisclosed location. The opening reception is invitation-only, with 75 guests gaining access through a ticket and security form, and the exhibit will remain on view for an extended period. All funds will support the project’s therapeutic residency program.
The exhibition features works by artists directly affected by the war in Israel. Each participant completed a minimum two-month residency in The 8 Project’s Los Angeles-based rehabilitation and art therapy program, creating pieces that reflect their journeys through trauma, healing and renewed expression.
During the opening reception, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artists, connect with survivors and hear a conversation between Tomer Peretz and chef Michael Solomonov about how the events shaped their lives and creative work.
The initiative will also debut its New York–based workshops, designed to help Jewish-American communities and allies process emotions, reconnect, and rebuild unity during a challenging cultural moment. Led by survivors, soldiers and artists, these sessions blend artmaking, reflection and group connection to create a safe, grounding environment.
The outstanding project was able to transform tragedy into creativity, offering a space where pain becomes art and resilience becomes beauty.
