Malka Dumbo’s special dinner series spotlighting different wines and cuisines continues this week with “An Evening in Tarragone,” a special prix-fixe dinner celebrating Spanish food, culture and wine that’s happening on Wednesday, February 4. Although the Spanish-inspired tasting menu is sure to satisfy curious kosher palates, it’s the wine portion of the evening that will predominantly astound: the dinner will be served alongside pours from Elvi Wines, the only fully kosher winery in Spain.

The family-owned wine producer—named Elvi as a blend of the Hebrew word for G-d (“El”) and the Catalan word for wine (“vi”)—was founded back in 2003. Since then, it’s put out a variety of kosher options, like its Cava (a dry, sparkling white) and Elvi El 26 from Priorat, a red.

If this week’s event is anything like the previous ones, expect a rep from the wine company to also be on hand and relay details about each pour, which will include the Elvi traditional method Cava NC, the Herenza Alella Blanco 2023, the Elvi Siblings by Mesorah Montsant 2022, the Clos Mesorah 2022 and the El26 Priorat 2021.

Fair warning: you’re going to want to take a lot of the bottles that you try home with you.

Tickets for the evening, available right here, run $150 per person, plus tax and gratuity, a price that includes the five-course tasting menu with wine pairings. There are two seatings available: the first at 6pm and the second at 9pm.
