Popular Israeli street food restaurant Crave is opening on Long Island

The Five Towns’ already crowded—and super appreciated—kosher restaurant roster will soon count Crave, a popular eatery in Jerusalem, among its ranks.

According to Yeah That’s Kosher, Eric and Chaya Fiedler, the couple that operates Hunki’s Pizza Bar, also in Woodmere, contacted the Israeli restaurant last year and is now gearing up for an August 15 opening at 12 Irving Place.

The outlet reports that the store front has recently been “gutted and refurbished, now offering an Israeli vibe.”

Although no official details about the exact menu have yet been released, we can only imagine the offerings will resemble the ones served in Israel, from the brisket bites to the chicken tenders, a nacho grande appetizer bowl filled with tortilla chips, pico de gallo, black beans and more.

In Israel, diners also go crazy for the steak burgers served on sesame buns. Varieties include the Truffle, made with vegan mozzarella and truffle parsley, and the Mendel, featuring vegan cheddar, lamb bacon and BBQ sauce.

Ever popular smash burgers can also be prepared as singles, doubles, triples or quadruples (given all the toppings they come with, we suggest keeping it light!) but other more traditional sandwiches should be gazed at as well, from the New York-style pastrami Reuben to the pulled brisket and the B.L.T.

We’d be remiss not to mention one specific menu section that has earned Crave much of its fanbase: the milkshake. In Jerusalem, the vegan drink is offered in chocolate or vanilla, but we can only imagine the insanely fun flavors that the owners will come up with on this side of the Atlantic.
