There’s nothing quite as relaxing as spending time in a well-designed café, enjoying a perfectly brewed coffee while nibbling on freshly made pastries. Neighbors, a relatively new spot located at 1878 East 4th Street in Midwood, offers just that: a cozy atmosphere and delicious kosher fare certified by Rabbi Marmorstein.

Perhaps most impressive is the fact that this stylish café is collaborating with various local food entrepreneurs, offering their creations on-site—from organic sourdough bagels made by Rachel Beyda Harrari to Grace Esses‘ viral rice crispy treats, also sold at Safta’s, another kosher café on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Esther Faham, who reportedly lives right next-door, also sells her delectable tasting (and beautiful looking!) sticky buns at the café.
“A really fun part of opening Neighbors is being able to work with local bakers and chefs to showcase their incredible talents,” one of the owners, Solly, told Pretty Kosher. “I wanted to bring an elevated experience to the local community where I’m from and cherish.”

In addition to the unique pastries on offer, patrons can snag grab-and-go items from the on-site fridge, including salads and sandwiches. Perhaps most notably, the space also houses a separate kitchen where staff prepares hot meat items for take-out only.

When it comes to the drinks, Neighbors takes things up a notch. Alongside classic favorites like lattes, iced mochas and espresso shots, you’ll find a variety of matcha-based drinks that the staff takes very seriously.
“Our matcha is ceremonial grade,” says Sonny, underscoring their commitment to quality.
It’s clear that Neighbors isn’t just about coffee and pastries—it’s about bringing the best of the community to the community itself. And with that focus on excellence, the name says it all.
