Jews in Weed was first launched after the October 7 attacks in Israel: at 4:20 p.m. every Friday, hundreds of people joined pre-Shabbat calls to bring the community together.

Fast-forward to today, and the idea has grown in both scope and message, with events happening all over the city to celebrate different Jewish holidays within the cannabis scene. For the first time ever, the organization is throwing a unique Purim party at Culture House, a dispensary in the heart of Herald Square at 958 Sixth Avenue, near 34th Street, on March 12.

A few important things: weed consumption will be allowed at the event, which has a strict 21+ age policy. Costumes are also highly encouraged!

“Purim, a holiday that commemorates the survival of the Jewish people against persecution as told in the Book of Esther, is a time of joy, resilience, and coming together,” reads the official press release about the party. “It’s traditionally celebrated with costumes, storytelling, and festive treats like hamantaschen—and this event will capture that spirit while bringing Jewish cannabis professionals and allies together for a night of community and celebration.”

As mentioned in the release, attendees will also get to indulge in “everyone’s favorite triangle foods”—pizza and hamantaschen.

Tickets for the event, which will be held on March 12 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., are available for around $40 [here].
