After a month of holiday meals, volunteering to cook another elaborate dinner might feel premature. But Thanksgiving is next on the calendar, and Talia’s Steakhouse is already taking reservations for anyone who would prefer to leave the turkey to someone else.
The Upper West Side restaurant, at 668 Amsterdam Avenue between West 92nd and 93rd Streets, will serve a four-course glatt kosher Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 26. The price is $118 per person before tax and an 18 percent service fee. Talia’s has been doing Thanksgiving for more than two decades, so this is familiar territory for its kitchen.
The centerpiece is roasted turkey with stuffing and sweet mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce, of course. If your attachment to the holiday has never extended to the bird itself, grilled ribeye and Moroccan salmon are among the alternatives. You can observe Thanksgiving over steak, it’s okay.
Some more details: there are five seatings available, at noon, 2pm, 4:30pm, 7pm and 9pm. The children’s menu is $59 for ages 10 and under. Reservations require a nonrefundable $50 deposit per table, which is credited toward the bill when you attend. Find the booking details on Talia’s Thanksgiving page, or call 212-580-3770.
For those keeping dinner at home, the restaurant also offers takeout, delivery and catering, including a whole roasted turkey. And since Thanksgiving falls the day before Shabbat, outsourcing Thursday’s cooking has a practical appeal: you might actually feel like entering your kitchen again on Friday.
