Upscale, plant-based destination Avant Garden clearly knows how to throw a themed dinner. Every month, the East Village eatery hosts a six-course Jain tasting menu that feels as thoughtful as it is memorable, a glimpse into just how far vegetables can be pushed when treated with real imagination.
For Cinco de Mayo, the restaurant is going all in. Guests will be treated to a Puebla-inspired feast, a cuisine that layers indigenous, Spanish and Middle Eastern influences into something deeply nuanced and distinctly Mexican, courtesy of chef Juan Pajarito.
Built from personal and family recipes and served family-style, the four-course meal (plus dessert!) leans into the kind of inventive vegetable-forward cooking Avant Garden has made its name on: unexpected textures, bold seasoning and dishes that feel both rooted and quietly experimental.
And because no Cinco de Mayo celebration is complete without a little ceremony, the dinner will be paired with a curated tequila and mezcal cocktail menu—exactly the kind of thoughtful touch that turns a good night out into a full-on occasion.
You can already reserve your table for the Cinco de Mayo dinner on Resy right here. Tickets cost a little under $70 per guest plus tax. Service fee is already included.
